Excellent article, Jackie. It flowed well and you concluded with some great suggestions. Quite timely too, as many people are going abroad next semester!

This is so true! I'm in a long-distance relationship right now. My boyfriend and I started dating apart and he goes to school a few hours away, but we have been dating for 2 years and a half now. There are tough times, but it's all about gaining trust and knowing that your relationship is not your entire life. There's so much out there to explore in college and being in a long-distance relationship (as opposed to dating someone from the same school) really sets you free to have an independent social life and friends group and be able to do so many more other things. It has been working great for us, although it'd be nice if I could see him more than once a month:)

Really enjoyed this article!
