New and Improved or Over the Hill?

Warning: spoiler alert. If you’re not up to date with these shows and don’t want to know what happens, don’t read on.

Thank goodness, “House” and “One Tree Hillboth returned this week! I thought I’d write up a little review in case anyone was already too busy studying to watch the shows. If this is the case, I am sorely sorry for you.

I’m going to start right off with my favorite: “House.” Just when I thought I couldn’t possibly love him anymore, he proved me wrong. Highlights of the new episode: Chase got hotter and Wilson proposes to House. It was a magical experience. Let me explain:

The new episode kicks off with yet another moral dilemma as the team is presented with a major drug dealer suffering from vertigo. The show turns into The Departed” for a bit, as the patient is really an undercover cop who hasn’t seen his family in 16 months. He dies in the end from a chronic something-or-other (no worries, House figures it out before he dies, phew!). Chase has an awesome new hair cut, but the more important issue is WHERE IS CAMERON? They can’t really have taken her off the show, right? RIGHT!?!?!?

Best of all, Wilson and House both want to get with their hot new neighbor, who thinks they’re gay together. I can’t believe I never considered this union before, but I really think the writers have something here. They make a super cute couple, no? House decides he’s going to get her before Wilson does, so he gets close to her by pretending he and Wilson are having relationship issues. Wilson goes for the gold by proposing to House, which makes the hot neighbor back off of both of them for good. Wilson, if I wasn’t already so in love with House, I’d marry you myself! So keep that ring and if House really does end up with Cuddy, I’m all yours.

The episode was a real gem, even though there was no progress with House and Cuddy. I’m still waiting for them to get it on in real life, not just in House’s mind this time. Please and thank you!

“One Tree Hill” was, well… bad. It was a lot of the same old, same old we’ve seen in every season since they left high school: Nathan loves basketball, yay! Haley loves singing, yay! Jamie is super adorable, yay!

Quinn and Clay are in love after, like, a month? Because that happens in real life. Brooke’s new sexy English designer is way into her, but she’s totally clueless. Julian tells Brooke he can’t deal with her jealousy and breaks things off, then takes Alex home and goes to bed in the next hotel room over. They’re obviously going to get it on.

Victoria offers Milli her assistant job back, and she takes it, but still pines for her party life. To sniff or not to sniff? Let’s hope she stays straight this time because Mouth is back! Yes, he has returned from Cali for her, and they gave each other one of those happily ever after smiles, so it’s legit this time.

Everything was predictable and boring – I even started unpacking from winter break while I was watching; that’s how bored I was. Luckily, I stayed tuned for the very last scene. That’s when Taylor (Haley’s evil sister who took Nathan’s virginity) comes for a visit, new BF in tow. Who is her new lover? None other than Quinn’s ex-husband, David. The scenes from the next episode promise a show down between the three sisters; needless to say, I’m not all that excited. “One Tree Hill” should have taken the hint when the two main characters left the show, but who am I to judge? Let’s wait and see if they can pull off a comeback.

Next up: “Supernatural” and “Greek”! They return next week, and I’m so ready to see if the devil will take over Sammy’s soul and Casey and Cappie to get married! Have a good weekend, everyone; I’m off to listen to Ke$ha’s “Tik Tok” on repeat. Don’t judge, you all do it too!

  1. You need to calm down. One Tree Hill actually is one of CWs top rated shows, even performing higher than Gossip Girl in ratings. Everyone loves the fact that Haley and Nathan have better storylines this year and I know a lot of people who say the show is holding up very well with Chad and Hilarie gone. I personally think its much better.
Come on…who can’t resist and girl fight, I for one can’t epsically with Jamie watching form the window and the man doing nothing. Its a classic that OTH does superbly.
Did you know, they are bringing back Haley’s mom but they are also doing a 80 theme episode in honor of the late John Hughes (don’t quote me on the name)
Please, don’t every say this show is bad…its actually very very good!

  2. Gotta love the ratings argument. “CSI: the Moon can’t be bad, look at its ratings!” Popular /= good. This critic is
doing her job by separating the two.

  3. I agree, One Tree Hill lost my loyalty after the season with the crazy nanny. To be honest, the show was much better when Brooke Davis was a skank and spent her time popping up naked in the back seat of people’s cars.
