I'm excited to check out the MIT based theater, which I wasn't previously aware of. Another theater to consider is the Somerville Theater in Davis Square. It's a bit out of the way, but worth checking out if you're over that way anyways (or want an additional excuse to visit Davis Square, which itself is pretty neat). They often have can-be excellent live shows there too, listed on their calendar online. Most are like, world music type stuff (Huun Huur Tu played there, which was amazing). It's hit or miss.
