Nothing to think about? Am I the only one who thought the film was supposed to be ambiguous? I came out thinking that you were supposed to be unsure of whether Teddy really is insane, i.e. 'Andrew Laeddis' or whether he has just succumbed to the deception and manipulation Rachel told him about. The first scenario is thrilling - the idea that the 'bad guys' are good and that everything, from his gun to his illustrious career are fabricated - whilst the second is deeply poignant. I know everything points to Teddy being Laeddis; the only reason I think otherwise is because the scene where he has states that he is Andrew and that Teddy never existed seems to suggest that he has been indoctrinated against his will. That made the final comment doubly meaningful to me - either way he loses. As Teddy he is stuck on the island until he regains sanity, as Andrew he has to live knowing that he is a monster. I haven't read the book though, so I don't know whether it's definite that he is Laeddis.

Yeah it doesn't give the audience anything to think about. Other than the amazing last line that details how [SPOILERS REMOVED].
But yeah, nothing to think about at all.

"The problem with “Shutter Island” is that it doesn’t seem to recognize how ludicrous its own story is."

I'd add that is not only a ludicrous story, but one that fails to give the audience anything to think about after its over. When its done its done.
