A Back-to-School Show You Can’t Miss

So there’s a sort of underground hardcore/punk scene in Allston. There are basement and house shows of all shapes and sizes. The music is partly based on DIY (do it yourself) ethics and culture that stem from an important period in the music industry–an era that Boston was largely a part of–the 80s hardcore/straight-edge movement.

Some of Boston’s biggest hardcore bands from the 80s are reuniting for a special show on Aug. 29 at Club Lido in Revere. It’s a stretch from the familiar bubble of BU campus, but it’s worth the hike.

I’m going to switch to “blog” mode right now and say that you. should. not. miss. this. show. Even if it’s not your style of music, it’s something worth experiencing.

I covered the reunion for The Cambridge Chronicle this summer. To read more, click here.
