Worst Case Scenario: Freshman Edition

Case 3: Socially Unsatisfied

You’re really excited to go to college and start a new social life. You liked your friends from home, but would love to start on clean social slate. It’s two weeks into the school year, and you are having trouble making friends. You find yourself sitting alone at meals and in classes. On Saturday nights, you have no one to call. Not exactly the social life you were picturing.

Be active and get involved—BU is a big school, so there is always something going on. The best way to make friends is to join clubs and organizations. “You can always visit the Student Activities Office to learn about clubs and organizations and find students with similar interests,” says Mr. Zamojski. “We have hundreds of student organizations.”

Seriously stuck? We’ve got backup— If you’re really stuck, Zamojski says to call the Dean of Students office. “We have a staff member who assists students in exploring ways to get students connected to other students who have the same interests,” he offers.
