BU Sessions: Emily Rooker

Studio Sessions records exclusive live sessions of Boston University’s musicians. The series is brought to you in part by The Quad and Rep Records. The sessions are recorded all around the BU campus. The Sessions are always looking for the next “big” BU band.

Emily Rooker hails from Hartland, Michigan, a small town where she grew up singing around campfires and learning to love acoustic music. She has been writing music since she can remember, and recorded an album of songs she wrote the summer of 2011, entitled “Late Night Secrets.” Her sound has been described to her in many ways, including “Super folky!,” “You sound kind of like Adele…” or simply as “pretty.” Take from that what you will, and listen for yourself. Emily looks forward to beginning to play shows around the Boston area, so look for her!
