After seeing the amazing shape the Boston Marathon runners were in this weekend, it’s only natural to want to have such amazing bodies. If the question is how to get healthy fast, the answer is to eat healthier food, and that means no meal skipping. For college students, breakfast is generally the most skipped meal of the day.
It’s completely understandable. When it comes to deciding between more sleep and forcing oneself to wake up early for class, I’d pick sleep without even thinking about it. However, it is definitely worth it to get up early and eat this delicious and simple breakfast. In fact, I would recommend it as a daily routine!
Why? Because it will not only help your body become healthier faster; it will also help your brain become ready for the day of classes ahead. Yogurt pretty much always taste good when mixed with dry foods (like the ones parents send that pile up in your dorm). It also has a large amount of active cultures, whether you choose to use Greek or non-Greek yogurt, and is a fantastic source of protein.
Good luck and have fun cooking!
Healthy Breakfast Yogurt
Total time: 5 minutes
Ingredients:
1 cup of yogurt of your choice (Chobani for me, please!)
Fruit of your choice (I wanted apples chopped up)
Granola and another kind of nut
Nutella
Directions:
1. Either use the original yogurt cup or another bowl and mix the yogurt thoroughly; it will soon be prepared to deal with all of the healthiness that is about to be added.
2. Add in the fruit you want to use. I diced the apples so that they would be around bite-size pieces and added them in.
3. Mix in the granola next. It really doesn’t matter what kind or how much you want to add. I personally put in a lot of granola, because I like my entire yogurt to be crunchy.
4. Place some of your nuts in. I generally just stick with a small handful of pecans because there is already so much granola.
5. Lastly, mix in the Nutella. This is my favorite because an extra kick of chocolate is what is absolutely needed in this breakfast.
By now, it should be sufficiently mixed up and should taste absolutely fantastic!
Enjoy!
