Big Bucks on Saturday

The Boston band The Big Big Bucks whose album I reviewed for The Quad this past fall is having their 7″ release party/show at Great Scott this Saturday. The release is for their first single, “Be A Baby,” which is off their upcoming and highly anticipated album, Crucial Schmooze (Static Eye Records).

The Bucks are known for their almost weekly performances around Boston venues, disregarding the usual one-show-every-three-weeks rule and embracing the opportunity to play for fans as much as possible. The band’s known for their loud sound, jagged guitar riffs, rough vocals, and hard-hitting drums.

Crucial Schmooze will come out in 2010, but the single is worth checking out ahead of time. The Bucks will surely preview additional tracks from the upcoming album on Saturday as well. Other bands on the lineup include labelmates The Konks, Babydriver, and Bar Sinister.
