Let’s be honest: We all have a love-hate relationship with December. For one, it’s finals season. But it’s also Christmas season. At this time, all signs point toward Christmas – Starbucks released its red holiday cups just after Halloween, red and green candies have probably been available since July, the only light in our dorm rooms comes from strings of fairy lights, and the Boston Common Christmas Tree has been lit.
On Thursday evening, thousands of Boston residents came together with Mayor Menino to flip the switch on the city’s most impressive tree – a 47-foot white spruce donated by Mary Lou Milligan of Nova Scotia.
