WTBU’s Award Ceremony Open to the Public, Tonight

WTBU awards inviteAs posted on Boston University’s College of Communication website, BU’s radio station, WTBU, will be having an open award ceremony tonight at BU Central. Hosted by WTBU’s BU In the Morning Director Annie Berman, the event will be honoring its best shows of this semester’s programming, as well congratulating the “best intern” and “best DJ”of the semester.

The ceremony will include live performances from The Lonesome Mississippi Drifters, Vikesh Kapoor, and The Novel Ideas. There will also be appearances by Dean Elmoreand other BU administrators. The show starts at 8 p.m. The poll for the “Listener’s Choice Award” is still open to voters at http://wtburadio.org.

The event is fit for fans of WTBU, music, and/or WTBU sports and is the station’s last event for the semester. Refreshments will be provided. The station requests that attendees dress in semi-formal attire.

Jennifer Brown (COM '10) is a music writer for the Quad. She started working with national indie music acts and booking shows/interviews during her sophomore year of high school at Penn State's WKPS. She then traveled to Germany and explored the techno/HAUS scene and her love for all-things German. After that she worked at WKPS some more before finding her "home" at Boston University where she was a music director at WTBU. She has since added to her resume Pirate Promotion and Management, On A Friday, and the Cambridge Chronicle. Jen is now in Germany, taking some classes and booking shows.
