That Awkward Moment When: The R-Rated Hypnotist Visits BU

You know that awkward moment when you’re forced to chase your fleeing genitals through a crowd of your peers? No? Then you clearly weren’t a participant in Saturday night’s show by Frank Santos, Jr., the R-Rated Hypnotist.

The night kicked off with humorous ability of comedian James Goff shortly after midnight.

Moving from topics from the military video game Call of Duty  to ugly babies, Goff buttered up the Boston University audience for the main show.

Capitalizing on the newly gained comedic momentum, hypnotist Frank Santos, Jr. dove right in by asking the audience, “Have any morals?” to which apparently everyone responded with a resounding “no!”

In a reality competition-style elimination process, a group of twenty enthusiastic volunteers were whittled down to ten after several failed to make their arms titanium or their tongues superglued under the suggestion of hypnosis. Their prize? A once-in-a-lifetime experience that they’ll never remember.

Over the course of the night, people felt feathers in their pants, a male Beyonce did the “Single Ladies” dance, the boys did some booty shaking, the girls were White Swans, a girl unexpectedly “grew a pair,” and a guy lost his manhood, found it again, and then proceeded to chase it around the room.

But the true unsung heroes of the night were the American Sign Language interpreters who, as they somehow always do here at BU, got pulled into the act. The first ASL assistant for the hypnosis show, was brought front and center by Santos to continue signing. Whenever he said the word “good,” the hypnotized students believed Katie had just passed gas right in front of them.

The other interpreter, Nathan, arguably had it worse.
