BU TweetCreep: September 12th-16th

Who’s tired? Who feels like they are walking around in a mild, zombie-like state, drinking coffee like it’s liquid gold? If you answered, “ME, ME, ME! DEAR GOD, THAT’S ME!” to both of those questions, then you are doing something right. Congratulations. You are now officially acclimated to being a college student. Ain’t it grand, Class of 2015? (For the record, I’m talking about classes/workload. Not parties on Gardner.) Anywho, for those who feel like they’re living in a daze, BU Twitterland has become a strange, incomprehensible place, full of uncomfortable, confusing, horror-movie-esque tweets. Creeping this week made me wonder if I was going crazy or if these tweeps just wanted to make me feel that way.

I hereby pronounce this week the Uncomfortable Week that was September 12-16th.

Rhett-torical Question? (Yeah, I Just Made a Terrier Pun)

I don’t know. Are you? I mean, personally, I am. But I don’t think you wanted me to answer that. So why did you put the question mark? I CAN’T READ YOUR MIND, CHIPHIBU! #anxioustiredLizBreenreactions

Guerilla Hugging

I hope it’s not in a dark alleyway. Or in my bedroom. A guerilla campaign might be cool for advertising, but not for hugging. Remember that, everyone. Words of wisdom from me to you.

Sorry, Boss

You’re vs Your. Their vs. They’re vs. There. Compliment vs. Complement. (C’mon, guys. You’re making me look bad. I call out Vibes for their addition/edition mistake last week and you do this to me?!)

Consult the Polls

Based on what I see on Twitter, the BU Class of 2011 could use two drinks… if you catch my drift… #PLEASEDEARGODDON’TMAKEMEGRADUATE (If you didn’t catch my drift, I’m referring to joblessness/the current state of the economy).

American Gladiator

May I suggest dueling pistols next time?

“UM, HELLO?!” – Angelina, Jersey Shore Season 1

I just… I don’t… Get… It. “Thought I was dreaming” seems more appropriate for meeting Ryan Gosling or watching ‘Toddlers and Tiaras’. Not a self-defense seminar. But who knows, maybe it was a hangover reference.

All in the Family

This tweet inspired me to create a spinoff of awkwardfamilyphotos.com called awkwardfamilytweets.com.

@BUDiningService: The Destroyer of Democracy

So… if this “Hannah” is Che Guevara, does that make you Castro? Because then, as an American, I’m not allowed to partake in any trade with you. Or perhaps Hannah is Che and you are the democratic government before Castro? Either way, I think this Hannah is bad for business and must be destroyed immediately. (Sorry, Hannah. Maybe I Embrace You can help you find a hiding spot to ride out the storm?)

  1. week 2 of the tweet creep, taking a while to get feet off the ground huh? Don’t try so hard for the jokes, and do your research don’t be lazy, there are a ton of tweets out there you’re missing from staff/faculty.

    1. Hi, Maria. I assure you I am looking at Twitter several times a day to find tweets, but if you ever feel like I am missing something, feel free to email me at ebreen@buquad.com. We are also making a conscience effort this semester to shorten TweetCreep a bit to be more blog-friendly, which makes it difficult to possibly include every tweet I would like to. But again, my mailbox is always open, so to speak.

  2. Wait, compliment and complement are TWO different things? No way. But seriously, four years at BU and I NEVER learned that. Ps. Maria, get a day job… for me. But actually. While I go drink those two drinks with @bualumni.
