“Sh*t Nobody Says at BU” Goes Viral

Sh*t Nobody Says at BU

This past week, the YouTube video “Sh*t Nobody Says at BU” went viral across the BU campus, getting passed around like a note during class via Facebook and Twitter. With nearly 18,000 views in just a week, this video was much more successful than the previously attempted “Sh*t BU Students Say” video released just four days prior. The BU students who created this video last week made a parody of similar popular videos, like the videos that have been circulating YouTube over recent weeks called “Sh*t Girls Say” and “Sh*t Boston Guys (Massholes) Say.”

This video has gotten so much attention because it speaks about some of the things at BU that are not so great–things that are sometimes unspoken but true, to put it nicely. These can include the not so subtle jabs made towards CGS, the BU guest policy, the less than stellar dining hall food, and how those of us in CAS (like myself) know that the building was designed for people to get lost on the top floors. Other items mentioned in the video are very familiar to most BU students, like the Comm Ave Guy (really known as the Comm Ave Runner), the inconvenience of having a car on campus, and as for the “Who is Dean Elmore?” reference… he’s the man, to put it simply.

Together, all of the things mentioned in this video provide decent entertainment for any BU student, providing a 1 minute and 25 second break from the daily grind.

Although the girls who made the video really nailed a lot of the things that nobody would say at BU, they did get two very crucial things wrong. Nobody, whether at BU or anywhere else, thinks that Crocs are cute or wants to order from Pizza Hut. Ever.
