Dear Flare Jeans, GO AWAY.

I do not like you in the slightest. To be quite honest, I hate you. You had your run in the seventies. You even had a small claim to fame in the nineties. Now, it’s 2011, and sadly enough – you’re making a comeback.

When I first saw you in the windows of my favorite stores, I thought that you were just a fluke, a one hit wonder, that I would see you once and never again. As time went on, I realized that you happen to be everywhere, all around me, and swarming in. You are here, and you are becoming more prominent by the second.

You might be “in” at this point. Sure, whatever. This does not mean that you are okay. Your so-called “bell-bottom” look is not attractive on anyone. The amount of fabric that is used to make some of your massive flares is enough to make an entirely new pair of jeans. I will never understand how anyone accepts this.  In addition to this, you swallow the beauties that are shoes completely most of the time, making them invisible under your unnecessary bells. I’m sorry, but I’d rather see the shoes, no matter how disgusting.  Well–as long as they’re not Uggs.

Luckily, the trend hasn’t quite caught on. The time has not yet come to deal with you disgracing BU’s biddies and beyond. I know that soon, I won’t be able to get away from you at all. There will be no running or hiding. Until this time, I know I’ll be able to relax in the comfort of my home far away from you. Please, I’m begging you, go away. Fall in a ditch and never come back. Enjoy the attention, because I am sure it will not last long.

I do not appreciate you, and I never will.

Sincerely,
A Disgruntled Anti-Flarist
