Worst Case Scenario: Freshman Edition

Case 5: The Disappearing Laundry

It’s your first time doing laundry in a college dorm. You had put your laundry in the washing machine, planning to take it out and transfer it after class three hours later. When you go to transfer your clothes to the dryer, you notice that they are missing. Those were your favorite clothes.

Report it!—If someone steals your stuff, “that’s theft, and you can report it to the BUPD. Reporting theft is always important,” according to Mr. Zamojski. “You need to report it to someone, whether it’s your RA or the hall office.”

Police will look into it—The police will do the best they can to find your clothes. “If there are cameras that are recording in that facility, we can review the tapes.” Zamojski assures.

Be there for your clothes when they need youTo help prevent theft in the first place, be ready to grab your laundry when it’s done. Besides, even if your clothes don’t get stolen, many students won’t hesitate to throw your wet undies on top of a washing machine if they’re waiting to use one.
